The music is both melancholy and aggressive. Threatening and beautiful. Dark and bright. Passages changing from almost silence to heavy electrical rock. They call themselves UTAH. They are a rock quintet with base in Aarhus/Skanderborg. By several, and not just by us here at Skandinavian, they are predicted to be the new stars on the rock scene. This is a band we are proud to introduce even before they have signed a record deal.

UTAH has existed for nearly three years, and after giving many concerts they have achieved a very strong and personal expression, which makes an impression on everyone who listens to them. UTAH was one of the really big surprises on Live Contest 2003 (former known as DM in Rock). The band came second and won the audience award, and a part of the price was to play at last year’s Roskilde Festival, which they very praised for.

UTAH has not taken the straight way towards the goal. Along the way they have said no to participating in TV shows – and they have felt no rush in signing a record deal. They have spent their time working determined and intensively in a practice room and at all the little places they have been performing, and through this UTAH has gained the convincing sound which represents the band today. They deliver a many-sided and grand rock music, which is built up around one of the best singers in Denmark at the moment.
