”We think many albums sounds too similar and narrow from track 1-10”, says bass player Jacob Haubjerg. “We wanted to challenge this tendency. Our intension was to make an album on the songs’ own terms and therefore we haven’t forced the material in one specific direction. Still we think the listener has a clear feeling of a Striving Vines sound throughout the entire album.”

Striving Vines has also received attention abroad. In the spring 2009 Striving Vines was invited to play at the Canadian Music Week. Here the response was so good that the band was booked to play three more gigs during their short stay.

Reviewer Ole Rosenstand Svidt from the Danish music magazine Gaffa wrote about the band in Oct. 2009:
“The quartet Striving Vines’ biggest trump card is clearly singer and songwriter Jonas Miller’s strong bright and expressive vocal, which is distinct both live and on their EP-recordings. The songwriting, the craftsmanship and not least the vocal is impeccable and Striving Vines is clearly a band with lots of potential. The almost filled venue was also pleased with Striving Vines, who we definitely will see more of in the future.”

There will be plenty of opportunities to experience Striving Vines live in Denmark, when the band is touring the whole country after the album release in March.
