The Broken BeatsThe front man in The Broken Beats is the charismatic songwriter, guitarist and singer Kim Munk.
The band is the product of Kim Munk's idea of an unperfected band. It is a band of no limitations, with space for musical and human errors, a band for everyone - and most importantly a band where Kim Munk can be who he really is.
The Broken BeatsIn the spring 2001 in Aarhus Kim Munk forms a group of musicians for his new band The Broken Beats. The concerts are unpredictable, some times the band performs as a classic rock trio - at other times 17 musicians appears on stage. The concerts are the mixture of fireworks and pain that is also reflected in the music and quickly it attracts a loyal group of supporters in Aarhus. It does not matter whether Kim Munk performs in a goat-suit or in a tight rock T-shirt - his songs stands reliable. The Broken Beat records a CD, and quickly signs up with a German record company.
But then everything slows down. The release is delayed, the energy of the band is decreasing and the members drop out to work with other bands (e.g. PowerSolo, JuniorSenior and Carpark North).
Kim Munk restarts and finds new musical playmates and with fine reviews of the first CD and the successor The Broken Beats work their way through Germany, Holland and Austria. In two years The Broken Beats wear down three band busses - and at the end they wear each other down too. Kim Munks dream of the unperfected band bursts in beer, motor oil, broken propeller shafts, absinth, fistfights and lovesickness.
2½ years after releasing the highly acclaimed "In The Ruin For The Perfect", The Broken Beats is now ready their 5th studio album "You're Powerful, Beautiful & Extrodinary". The single "The Rules" have already proved its potential on Danish radio. The very creative use of Beach Boys harmonies and classic string arrangements makes listening to The Broken Beats a rare pop experience!
The Broken Beats have followed their dream thru up's n' downs, over the rainbow and into reality. After 7 years, with Europe as their ghost town and Denmark as base, they're ready with their 5th album "You're Powerful, Beautiful & Extrodinary".
They Once again prove, that The Broken Beats is a band with a unique style and high quality standard, with the right mass potential and extremely good pop music.
With Europe as try out, they have developed into a living unity and now continue into the rest of the world, as a grown up and astonishing live act, which is not hanging on every record labels backyard tree these days. In fact, this is a rarity of energy in one go.
So to get you in the tail of tomorrows miracle, just listen to the happy singles "Essentials", the breathtaking "The Rules", "Easily" with a touch of Arabia, the rock hymn "Copy", the heart breaking "Waters & Oceans" and last but not least "All The Diamonds In Rio" a sublime mix of art and commercial pop, just to mention a few. And as always to any good pop song is a good story and for you a possibility to pass it onto an audience in a town near you!
